Located at the crossroads of Interstate 40, Highway 93 and the famous U.S. Route 66, Kingman boasts transportation by air, rail and road. New commerce is finding Kingman very attractive, particularly with the arrival of a Walmart Distribution Center just south of town which is estimated to create another 700-800 new jobs. Among other new businesses; Staples, Petco, Big 5 Sporting Goods, Chili's, Home Depot and many others!
As part of the high desert country, Kingman is at 3345 feet elevation with multiple State and National Recreation Areas located within a two hour drive; including the Grand Canyon, Lakes Mead, Mohave, Havasu and Powell. The climate in Kingman is much less harsh than the scorching heat of southern Arizona. Summer averages about 94 degrees. About two months of "winter" averages about 54 degrees.
Kingman is blessed with great water resources, being situated over one the largest aquifers in the world and having the Colorado River and Hoover Dam on the edge of the Mohave County. The bypass over Hoover Dam (to be completed in 2010) will cut the current 2 hours trip to Las Vegas by at least 20 minutes. Kingman's low crime rate, excellent healthcare and education and moderate cost of living make it a great place to work, play, raise a family, retire and invest!
